We are a Mardi Gras organization founded in 2009 for teeneagers ages 13-20. Our organization prepares members to join the adult Mardi Gras tradition. This is not your normal kid’s organization, where they just show up to ride in a parade. This organization was set up to prepare kids and teach them the ways of Mobile Mardi Gras, and how an adult organization works. There will be regular meeting, committees, responsibilities, and functions. We ride in a parade and have a ball. They have already been accepting applications and have had kids from Inca, Neptune’s Daughters, Order of Isis, Conde Cavaliers, La Luna, Polka Dots, Butterfly Maidens, Stripers, and Crew of Columbus join.

Mardi Gras was first performed by ancient Romans. It was adopted by the French, who named Mardi Gras, and brought to the americas. In 1704 Mobile Alabama established the first secret society , Masque de la Mobile.
Mardi Gras, which means fat tuesday in french, was a time when someone could celebrated before ash wednesday and lent when they would repent for sins they had commited in the year. It is often celebrated with elaborate parties, often including masked characters dressed in costumes.
In Mobile we are proud to continue this tradition.
